Centenary of Alexander Friedmann’s Prediction of Universe Expansion and the Prospects of Modern Cosmology

open access: yesUniverse
In this Editorial to the Special Issue “The Friedmann Cosmology: A Century Later”, we consider an outstanding character of Friedmann’s prediction of Universe expansion, which laid the foundation of modern cosmology.

Cosmology Due to Thermodynamics of Apparent Horizon

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 537, Issue 11, November 2025.
Effective cosmological constant as a function of the Hubble rate H for different entropy parameters b. Figure shows the asymptotic of the effective cosmological constant. At H = 0 the effective cosmological constant vanishes. Abstract This study proposes new entropy of the apparent horizon Sh=(1/β)arctan(βSBH)$S_h=(1/\beta)\arctan (\beta S_{BH ...

Pulsar timing array observations as possible hints for nonsingular cosmology

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
Recent pulsar timing array (PTA) experiments have reported strong evidence of the stochastic gravitational wave background (SGWB). If interpreted as primordial gravitational waves (GWs), the signal favors a strongly blue-tilted spectrum.

Inner Magnetospheric and Geomagnetic Responses to Solar Wind Driving During Omega Band Events

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Omega bands are mesoscale auroral structures that appear as quasi‐periodic eastward drifting protrusions of the poleward edge of the diffuse aurora. Cribb et al. (2024), https://doi.org/10.1029/2024gl109756 demonstrated that the appearance of omega bands is associated with solar wind driving consistent with stream interaction regions. However,

Trans-Planckian Physics and Inflationary Cosmology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Due to the quasi-exponential red-shifting which occurs during an inflationary period in the very early Universe, wavelengths which at the present time correspond to cosmological lengths are in general sub-Planckian during the early stages of inflation ...

Gravity Modeling of Lunar Lava Tubes: Insights From a Terrestrial Analog

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract The exploration of lunar lava tubes can address challenges of human habitation on the Moon by identifying natural shelters against radiation, temperature extremes, and micrometeoroid impacts. This study shows the feasibility of detecting lunar lava tubes with gravimetry using Ape Cave in Washington State, USA, as a terrestrial analog. Ape Cave'

Philosophical Implications of Inflationary Cosmology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Recent developments in cosmology indicate that every history having a nonzero probability is realized in infinitely many distinct regions of spacetime.

Are we seeing the beginnings of Inflation? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Phantom Cosmology provides an unique opportunity to "connect" the phantom driven (low en- ergy meV scale) dark energy phase to the (high energy GUT scale) inflationary era. This is possible because the energy density increases in phantom cosmology.

Energy Symmetry Breaking of Dirac and Weyl Fermions in Magnetized Spinning Conical Geometries

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, Volume 8, Issue 10, October 2025.
Exact solutions for relativistic fermions in magnetized, spinning conical geometries reveal defect‐induced symmetry breaking between fermion and antifermion energies. Energy levels depend on the magnetic field, background geometry, and fractionalized spin. When the defect's spin dominates, quantum effects diminish.

Viscous Cosmology for Early- and Late-Time Universe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
From a hydrodynamicist's point of view the inclusion of viscosity concepts in the macroscopic theory of the cosmic fluid would appear most natural, as an ideal fluid is after all an abstraction (excluding special cases such as superconductivity).
