A practical electrodialysis model for accelerating system development

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Empirical optimization of electrodialysis (ED) is dependent on repetitive experiments with incremental adjustments, which is cost prohibitive at scale. While models can reduce the costs associated with optimization and scale‐up, existing ED models are limited in application to specific use cases and tend to be developed for the exploration of ...

Morphology, divided and conquered?

open access: yesLinguistica Brunensia, 2016
Concentrating on the taxonomy of grammatical morphemes, this study shows that traditional definitions of inflectional vs. derivational morphemes do not pass more rigorous testing, although they probably reflect instinctive distinctions present in a ...

Accelerating Biosensor Discovery: A Computationally‐Driven Pipeline for Microplastics Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A computationally guided pipeline unites molecular simulation, synthetic biology, electrochemical engineering, and machine learning to accelerate biosensor discovery. A Bacillus anthracis carbohydrate‐binding module is used to develop a high‐performance micro‐ and nanoplastics sensor with greatly reduced error and variability.

Gaussian Process Regression–Neural Network Hybrid with Optimized Redundant Coordinates: A New Simple Yet Potent Tool for Scientist's Machine Learning Toolbox

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A machine learning method, opt‐GPRNN, is presented that combines the advantages of neural networks and kernel regressions. It is based on additive GPR in optimized redundant coordinates and allows building a representation of the target with a small number of terms while avoiding overfitting when the number of terms is larger than optimal.

Mitigating Stress‐Induced Nonphotoactive Phase Transition Through Sodium Sulfonate Engineering for Stable and Efficient Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
To address the phase stability issue of α‐FAPbI3, we employed a cation doping strategy using 1‐decanesulfonate (C10H21NaO3S). This doping releases lattice strain and suppresses the formation of the δ‐phase, enabling breakthrough performance in perovskite solar cells with a power conversion efficiency of 26.67% and excellent thermal and photostability ...
