Inflow forecasting using Artificial Neural Networks for reservoir operation [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences, 2016
In this study, multi-layer perceptron (MLP) artificial neural networks have been applied to forecast one-month-ahead inflow for the Ubonratana reservoir, Thailand.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

The influence of atmospheric circulation on the water budget of Lake Balaton

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 1994
Monthly water budget elements (inflow, precipitation, evaporation and controlled release) of a lake are related to large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns (CP).

Mathematical model of floods with the distributed parameters

open access: yesНаука. Инновации. Технологии, 2022
Though in general the picture of formation of floods is clear and it is clear that they generally are defined by intensity and duration of rainfall over a river basin, but there is no mathematical approach, within which it was possible to predict for the

Hydrological drought index based on reservoir capacity – Case study of Batujai dam in Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

open access: yesJournal of Water and Land Development, 2018
Hydrological drought index analysis has been widely developed and applied for the development of water resources. The island of Lombok, which is largely a dry land, requires a significant hydrological drought index to be sourced from measurable data ...

The application of sub‐seasonal to seasonal (S2S) predictions for hydropower forecasting

open access: yesMeteorological Applications, 2022
Inflow forecasts play an integral role in the management and operations of hydropower reservoirs. In Scotland, the horizon of inflow forecasts is limited in range to approximately 2 weeks ahead.
