Transmission von Influenza A

Praxis, 2011

Avian influenza: A review

American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 2007
A review of the avian influenza A/H5N1 virus, including human cases, viral transmission, clinical features, vaccines and antivirals, surveillance plans, infection control, and emergency response plans, is presented. The World Health Organization (WHO) considers the avian influenza A/H5N1 virus a public health risk with pandemic potential. The next human

Biology of Influenza A Virus

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2007
Abstract:  The outbreaks of avian influenza A virus in poultry and humans over the last decade posed a pandemic threat to human. Here, we discuss the basic classification and the structure of influenza A virus. The viral genome contains eight RNA viral segments and the functions of viral proteins encoded by this genome are described.

Influenza A Virus Reassortment

2014
Reassortment is the process by which influenza viruses swap gene segments. This genetic exchange is possible due to the segmented nature of the viral genome and occurs when two differing influenza viruses co-infect a cell. The viral diversity generated through reassortment is vast and plays an important role in the evolution of influenza viruses ...

Fatal influenza A virus infection in a child vaccinated against influenza

The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal, 2003
We report a fatal infection with influenza A virus in a 13-year-old child who had been vaccinated against influenza. Influenza A virus RNA was detected by PCR in lungs, bronchi and myocardium. A penicillin-sensitive strain of Staphylococcus aureus was also isolated from her bronchi.

Equine influenza — A segment in influenza virus ecology

Comparative Immunology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, 1980
Abstract Influenza viruses Heq1 Neq1 and Heq2 Neq2 are the only viruses responsible for equine influenza. Properties of both subtypes Heq1 Neq1 and Heq2 Neq2 are studied as well as their experimental pathogenecity and immune response in different species such as mouse, piglet and primates. Their antigenetic aspect and ecology are studied.
