Metropogis: a city information system

International Conference on Image Processing, 2003We report on a new system to augment a 3D block model of a real city obtained from aerial photogrammetry or aerial laser scanning with geo-referenced terrestrial data of the facades. An information database for VRML cities
2000 IEEE Conference on Information Visualization. An International Conference on Computer Visualization and Graphics, 2002A system is presented to visualize information about a city with a three-dimensional Web user interface. We present a novel way to connect a VRML world to an information database. As the data, code and models are kept separate, updates and maintenance of the system is easy. The information visualization of a city becomes easier and more intuitive in 3D.
