Dynamical System Segmentation for Information Measures in Motion
Motions carry information about the underlying task being executed. Previous work in human motion analysis suggests that complex motions may result from the composition of fundamental submovements called movemes. The existence of finite structure in motion motivates information-theoretic approaches to motion analysis and robotic assistance.

Optimal Information Measures for Weakly Chaotic Dynamical Systems
The study of dynamical systems suggests that an important indicator for their classification is the quantity of information that is needed to describe their orbits (here the orbits are transated into symbolic sequences by some geometrical construction). This leads to a definition of a complexity of a single orbit.

Information gain versus coupling strength in quantum measurements
We investigate the relationship between the information gain and the interaction strength between the quantum system and the measuring device. A strategy is proposed to calculate the information gain of the measuring device as the coupling strength is a ...

Measurement of angular distributions by use of low-coherence interferometry for light-scattering spectroscopy [PDF]
We present a novel interferometer for measuring angular distributions of backscattered light. The new system exploits a low-coherence source in a modified Michelson interferometer to provide depth resolution, as in optical coherence tomography, but ...

Information measurement systems in the digital society
Abstract The transition to the next technological order requires robotics and automation in the industry. Managing such process of production is impossible without scenario modeling, forecasting and diagnostic of possible emergencies based on measurement information received from various sensors.
