Long‐Term Neurologic Exam Findings in People Diagnosed and Treated During Acute HIV Infection

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Evaluate clinical and laboratory correlates of abnormal neurologic exam findings after acute HIV infection (AHI). Methods Participants from the RV254/SEARCH 010 cohort in Bangkok underwent standardized neurologic examinations at Weeks 0 (AHI), 12, 96, and 288 following antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Baseline Neuroinflammation Stratifies TSPO‐PET Response to Disease‐Modifying Therapy in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate which baseline clinical and imaging characteristics best predict TSPO‐PET‐measurable reduction in glial activation following treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS), to utilize this information for designing more efficient biomarker‐based clinical trials targeting glial activation.

Information and Entropy

1977
Two concepts which appear frequently in the description of dynamic systems are information and entropy. In view of their nature these concepts are rather difficult to place in the context of the preceding chapters. A concept such as entropy can be regarded as a state variable; a definition for information is obviously harder to find.

Information and Entropies

2021
Entropies are an important tool to quantify information and uncertainty and, as such, a crucial part of security proofs of quantum key distribution protocols. In general, the quantum entropy quantifies the amount of uncertainty we have of the state of a quantum mechanical system. In the context of a quantum key distribution protocol, the entropy can be

Entropy and information

World Futures, 1997
How information can be employed in thermodynamics, and how the tools of thermodynamics can be utilized in information theory—is the subject of our paper. We show that one side of information, the embodied information in the material can be quantitatively measured by entropie terms.
