Two concepts which appear frequently in the description of dynamic systems are information and entropy. In view of their nature these concepts are rather difficult to place in the context of the preceding chapters. A concept such as entropy can be regarded as a state variable; a definition for information is obviously harder to find.

Entropy Statistics and Information Theory
