Information Extraction Framework
2012The literature provides many techniques to infer rules that can be used to configure web information extractors. Unfortunately, these techniques have been developed independently, which makes it very difficult to compare the results: there is not even a collection of datasets on which these techniques can be assessed. Furthermore, there is not a common

Informative Feature Extraction
2021Laser molecular imaging produces high-dimension data with the structure dependent on the optical modality, laser type, detection method, kind of sample, etc. Generally, data’s high dimension corresponds to a situation where the number of initial parameters exceeds by orders of magnitude the number of hidden independent variables, e.g., when the number ...

2010 5th Petascale Data Storage Workshop (PDSW '10), 2010
Designing I/O systems capable of scaling up to deal with the next generation of extreme scale scientific environments is a significant challenge. Scientific applications already strain the capabilities of current filesystems and storage systems. This work presents a middleware-based approach that generalizes from previous work on staging areas to focus

Knowledge and Information Systems, 2006
Typographic and visual information is an integral part of textual documents. Most information extraction (IE) systems ignore most of this visual information, processing the text as a linear sequence of words. Thus, much valuable information is lost. In this paper, we show how to make use of this visual information for IE.

Free Your CSI: A Channel State Information Extraction Platform For Modern Wi-Fi Chipsets
Workshop on Wireless Network Testbeds, Experimental evaluation & CHaracterization, 2019Modern wireless transmission systems heavily benefit from knowing the channel response. The evaluation of Channel State Information (CSI) during the reception of a frame preamble is fundamental to properly equalizing the rest of the transmission at the ...

Extraction of phonemic information
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994When subjected to frequency analysis and plotted in a frequency spectral distribution, a voice signal typically includes a monotonously and relatively slowly changing component and a relatively rapidly changing component. For the recognition of voice sound, the relatively rapidly changing component contains phonemic information and thus is more ...

GraphIE: A Graph-Based Framework for Information Extraction
North American Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics, 2018Most modern Information Extraction (IE) systems are implemented as sequential taggers and only model local dependencies. Non-local and non-sequential context is, however, a valuable source of information to improve predictions.
