Self-attention mechanism-based CSI eigenvector feedback for massive MIMO

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2023
Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system can provide satisfying gain of spectrum efficiency for 5G and future wireless communication systems. In frequency-division duplex (FDD) mode, downlink channel state information (CSI) needs to be ...

Reinterpreting Vernon Smith’s “Microeconomic Systems as an Experimental Science” as Model-View-Controller Software Architecture [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Dunarea de Jos University. Fascicle I : Economics and Applied Informatics
Smith (1982) presented a model of microeconomic systems as information processing mechanisms consisting of an environment and set of institutions. As an information processing discipline, computer science has developed an analogous paradigm by dividing ...

Attributed network embedding based on self-attention mechanism for recommendation method

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Network embedding is a technique used to learn a low-dimensional vector representation for each node in a network. This method has been proven effective in network mining tasks, especially in the area of recommendation systems.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

The Improved Adaptive Silence Period Algorithm over Time-Variant Channels in the Cognitive Radio System

open access: yesFuture Internet, 2018
In the field of cognitive radio spectrum sensing, the adaptive silence period management mechanism (ASPM) has improved the problem of the low time-resource utilization rate of the traditional silence period management mechanism (TSPM).

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Feedback-controlled heat transport in quantum devices: theory and solid-state experimental proposal

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2017
A theory of feedback-controlled heat transport in quantum systems is presented. It is based on modelling heat engines as driven multipartite systems subject to projective quantum measurements and measurement-conditioned unitary evolutions.

Metformin promotes mitochondrial integrity through AMPK‐signaling in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Metformin mediates mitochondrial quality control in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) fibroblasts carrying mtDNA mutations. At therapeutic levels, metformin activates AMPK signaling to restore mitochondrial dynamics by promoting fusion and restraining fission, while preserving mitochondrial mass, enhancing autophagy/mitophagy and biogenesis ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.
