Abstract This study uses longitudinal data from the UK Millennium Cohort Study (N = 13,277) to examine the childhood and early adolescence factors that predict weapon involvement in middle adolescence, which in this study is exemplified by having carried or used a weapon.

New Repair strategy of Hadamard Minimum Storage Regenerating Code for Distributed Storage System [PDF]
The newly presented $(k+2,k)$ Hadamard minimum storage regenerating (MSR) code is the first class of high rate storage code with optimal repair property for all single node failures. In this paper, we propose a new simple repair strategy, which can considerably reduces the computation load of the node repair in contrast to the original one.

Size dependence of spin-wave modes in Ni80Fe20 nanodisks
We investigate the radial and azimuthal spin-wave (SW) resonance modes in permalloy (Py: Ni80Fe20) disks at zero external magnetic field, as function of disk diameter and thickness, using broadband ferromagnetic resonance spectroscopy.

Triacsin C inhibition of the acyl‐CoA synthetase long chain (ACSL) family decreases multiple myeloma cell survival, proliferation, mitochondrial respiration, and membrane potential. Made with Biorender.com. Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable cancer of plasma cells with a 5‐year survival rate of 59%.

Abstract Background Ultrasonography (US) and 99mTechnetium‐sestamibi scintigraphy (99mTc‐MIBI) are currently first‐line imaging modalities to localize parathyroid adenomas with sensitivities of 80% and 84%, respectively. Therefore, finding other modalities to further improve the diagnostic accuracy for preoperative localization is critically needed ...

Storage Allocation for Multi-Class Distributed Data Storage Systems [PDF]
Distributed storage systems (DSSs) provide a scalable solution for reliably storing massive amounts of data coming from various sources. Heterogeneity of these data sources often means different data classes (types) exist in a DSS, each needing a different level of quality of service (QoS).

Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor

Digital radiography image quality evaluation using various phantoms and software
Abstract Purpose To investigate the effect of the exposure parameters on image quality (IQ) metrics of phantom images, obtained automatically using software or from visual evaluation. Methods Three commercial phantoms and a homemade phantom constructed according to the instructions given in the IAEA Human Health Series No.

An Overflow Problem in Network Coding for Secure Cloud Storage [PDF]
In this paper we define the overflow problem of a network coding storage system in which the encoding parameter and the storage parameter are mismatched. Through analyses and experiments, we first show the impacts of the overflow problem in a network coding scheme, which not only waste storage spaces, but also degrade coding efficiency.

Enhancement of spin orbit torques in a Tb-Co alloy magnetic wire by controlling its Tb composition
We investigated the current-induced domain wall motion (CIDWM) in Pt(3 nm)/TbxCo1-x(6 nm) alloy wires with various Tb composition (x). We found that the threshold current density (Jth) for the CIDWM in the TbxCo1-x alloy wires decreases with increasing x.
