A Scheduling Method for Heterogeneous Signal Processing Platforms Based on Quantum Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Currently, many problems such as variable signal resources, complex execution environments, and low efficiency of scheduling algorithms are faced by heterogeneous signal processing platforms.

Effects of chronic browsing on life‐history traits of an irruptive large herbivore population

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study aimed to determine the relationship between diet quality, body mass, and size (hind foot length), and female reproduction and sought to identify the mechanism by which high density under severe food limitations is maintained. Our results demonstrated that sika deer introduced to Nakanoshima Island have maintained high densities through high ...

Combining transient dynamics and logistic‐asymptotic growth to study the recovery of two seabird populations after rat eradication

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examines the demographic dynamics of two seabird populations on Tromelin Island, 15 years after the eradication of brown rats. The results indicate that these populations are in good health and are expected to continue growing until breeding sites are saturated in about a century.

DEVELOPMENT MODEL FOR SUPPORTING THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF ACADEMIC LEVEL: CASE STUDY OF BINA NUSANTARA UNIVERSITY

open access: yesCommIT Journal, 2013
The fact that a small number of lecturers who are able to meet or pass the requirements for obtaining or enhancing the academic hierarchy (JJA/Jenjang Jabatan Akademis) is the reason of the study.

The unpredictably eruptive dynamics of spruce budworm populations in eastern Canada

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
We examine historical population data for spruce budworm from several locations through the period 1930–1997, and use density‐dependent recruitment curves to test whether the pattern of population growth over time is more consistent with Royama's (1984; Ecological Monographs 54:429–462) linear R(t) model of harmonic oscillation at Green River New ...

A Hawk-Dove game in kleptoparasitic populations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Kleptoparasitism, the parasitism by theft, is a widespread biological phenomenon. In this paper we extend earlier models to investigate a population of conspecifics involved in foraging and, potentially, kleptoparasitism. We assume that the population is

The Role of Hedonic Motivation in Influencing TikTok Use and How It Relates to Generation Z Characteristics

open access: yesAdvances in Human-Computer Interaction
Conclusion: The study sheds light on the significant roles of curiosity, joy, and immersion in influencing users’ intention to use TikTok while also highlighting the limited influence of control as a motivating factor.

Network topology drives population temporal variability in experimental habitat networks

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
Habitat patches connected by dispersal pathways form habitat networks. We explored how network topology affects population outcomes in laboratory experiments using a model species (Daphnia carinata). Central habitat nodes in complex lattice networks exhibited lower temporal variability in population sizes, suggesting they support more stable ...

Dendritic cells steering antigen and leukocyte traffic in lymph nodes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Dendritic cells are key players in the activation of T cells and their commitment to effector function. In this In a Nutshell Review, we will discuss how dendritic cells guide the trafficking of antigen and leukocytes in the lymph node, thus influencing T‐cell activation processes. Dendritic cells (DCs) play a central role in initiating and shaping the
