Numerical Reconstruction of Landslide Paleotsunami Using Geological Records in Alpine Lake Aiguebelette

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 129, Issue 5, May 2024.
Abstract Mass movements and delta collapses are significant sources of tsunamis in lacustrine environments, impacting human societies enormously. Paleotsunamis studies play an essential role in understanding historical events and their consequences, along with their return periods.

Artificial intelligence for oral squamous cell carcinoma detection based on oral photographs: A comprehensive literature review

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 13, Issue 1, January 2024.
This literature review offers an overview of the recent advancements in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) for oral cancer detection. All the studies exclusively employed oral photography for image data. Among the 11 articles, five achieved sensitivity rates exceeding 95%, while four attained accuracy rates surpassing 95%.

New Results on the Asymptotic Behaviour of a Stochastic SEI Model of Lymphatic Filariasis

open access: yesComplexity, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
The goal of this article is to examine a new stochastic epidemic model for lymphatic filariasis, susceptible‐exposed‐infected (SEI). Like other diseases, the spread of lymphatic filariasis is subject to a degree of randomness due to fluctuations in the natural environment.

Existence and Uniqueness of a Solution for a Four‐Stage Age‐Structured Population Dynamics Model With Spatial Diffusion for Desert Locusts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
We consider a linear system based on a population dynamics model dependent on age, space and nonlocal boundary conditions. Note that our population dynamics model is a four‐step model with a second derivative with respect to the age variable and a second derivative with respect to the space variable.

Towards a generic agent-based vector-host model: effects of carrying capacity and host mobility

open access: yesApplied Network Science
The aim of our work is to develop a generic conceptual agent-based model to formalize the interaction of vector and host given climate change. The model consists in creating a hypothetical example of a vector-host system.

Fractional Kirchhoff-Hardy Problem: Breaking of Resonance and General Existence Results

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we study a fractional Kirchhoff problem with a Hardy-type singular potential and general nonlinearities depending on the solution and its gradient: M∫∫RN×RN|u(x)−u(y)|q|x−y|N+qsdxdy(−Δ)su=λu|x|2s+f(x,u,∇u)inΩ, where Ω⊂RN is a bounded ...
