Thermal analysis of infra-red mammography
Proceedings., 11th IAPR International Conference on Pattern Recognition. Vol. IV. Conference D: Architectures for Vision and Pattern Recognition,, 2003Reports on the thermal analysis of normal and abnormal infra-red breast thermograms. The analysis is based on a series of digital infra-red mammograms of the breasts subjected to a very low level of microwave radiation. Such radiation produces a higher heating rate for tumorous tissue that normal healthy tissue.

Infra-red Absorption in Semiconductors
Reports on Progress in Physics, 1956Infra-red absorption in semiconductors is classified into four different types according to the mechanism: (i) intrinsic absorption associated with electron excitation across the energy gap; (ii) absorption due to the presence of free carriers; (iii) absorption associated with impurities or lattice defects; and (iv) absorption associated with lattice ...

Specificity of Infra-Red Spectra
Nature, 1953WE have recently examined the infra-red spectra (in carbon disulphide and carbon tetrachloride solutions) of a number of compounds of the general type (I), namely, 3α : 7α : 12α-trihydroxy steroids of the 5β (A : B cis) series with various groups R at C17.

Infra-red dichroism and protein structure
Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series B - Biological Sciences, 1952Abstract We have been considering the direction of the transition moment of the carbonyl band of the peptide group at ca. 1650 cm-1 and have concluded that it is inclined considerably to the carbonyl bond and lies somewhere between the OC and the ON directions.

A Versatile Infra-Red Spectrograph
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1945An infra-red spectrograph having sufficient flexibility to permit a wide variety of investigations is described. Its main characteristics follow. Any one of two prisms and two gratings, mounted on a table rotated by a large worm wheel, may readily be put into the path of the collimated radiation. A foreprism spectrometer is built into the instrument in

A Pneumatic Infra-Red Detector
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1947Work on infra-red detectors, and particularly on infra-red pneumatic detectors, pursued in the Signal Corps Engineering Laboratories from 1932 to date, has been briefly reviewed. A typical pneumatic infra-red detector and laboratory techniques are described.

An Infra‐Red Photoplethysmograph Coupler
Psychophysiology, 1977ABSTRACTThe use of miniature infra‐red transducers for plethysmography has proven superior to previous methods. This article describes a coupling circuit, specifically designed for the Beckman Type R polygraph but adaptable to any high gain differential input instrumentation recorder, which provides balancing and input termination suitable for these ...
