Long-term spatiotemporal stability and dynamic changes in helminth infracommunities of bank voles (Myodes glareolus) in NE Poland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Parasites are considered to be an important selective force in host evolution but ecological studies of host-parasite systems are usually short-term providing only snap-shots of what may be dynamic systems.

Community ecology of metazoan parasites of the anchovy Anchoa tricolor (Osteichthyes: Engraulidae) from the coastal zone of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Ecologia da comunidade de metazoários parasitos de manjuba Anchoa tricolor (Osteichthyes: Engraulidae) do litoral do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology, 2005
Between October 2001 and March 2002, 103 specimens of A. tricolor from Angra dos Reis (23°01'S, 44°19'W), in the coastal zone of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, were analyzed in order to study their metazoan parasite infracommunities.

Parasite communities in two sparid fishes from the western Mediterranean: a comparative analysis based on samples from three localities off the Algerian coast

open access: yesHelminthologia, 2017
We provide the first known comparative assessment of metazoan parasite communities in two taxonomically and ecologically related sparids, Boops boops and Spicara maena, that are common in the coastal infralittoral habitats in the Mediterranean.

[Infracommunity of parasite helminths of Ambystoma lernaensis (Caudata: Ambystomatidae) in Lerma, Mexico].

open access: yesRevista de biologia tropical, 2002
The helminth infracommunity structure was analyzed in 48 salamanders (Ambystoma lermaensis) from San Pedro Tlaltizapán, Lerma, Estado de Mexico (June 1997 to March 1999). Richness (2.46 +/- 1.8), abundance (29.5 +/- 42.3), and diversity (0.64 +/- 0.58) levels characterize these communities as depauperate, similar to other amphibian helminth communities

Strategy of symbiotic relationships and infection of coral fish by macroparasites

open access: yes, 2016
Infracommunities of macroparasites in reef fishes associated with scleractinian corals were studied in the Bay of Nha Trang (Vietnam). Two groups of symbionts were compared.

CONDITION FACTOR AND ECOLOGY OF ENDOHELMINTHS IN Metynnis lippincottianus FROM THE CURIAíÅ¡ RIVER, IN EASTERN AMAZON (BRAZIL)

open access: yesBoletim do Instituto de Pesca, 2020
Fish are among the vertebrate groups most susceptible to parasitic infections due to environmental characteristics that can favor the development of parasites; also, position of the host in food web has been associated with the parasitism.

Mean values (95% C.I.) of 4 parameters of gastrointestinal helminth communities in 5 owl species in Calabria (southern Italy).

open access: yes, 2013
The parasite taxa that are more frequently dominant in the infracommunities for each host species are also reported. Numbers in brackets are the percentage of hosts in which each parasite taxon is dominant.
