Hollow poly(heptazine imide) spheres are prepared through a novel approach that integrates hard templating with ionothermal synthesis. This method enables precise control over surface area, pore volume, hydrophilicity, light absorption, band position, and metal composition. These tunable properties facilitate the customized design of semiconductors for

Far-infrared surface emissivity and climate [PDF]
SignificanceWe find that many of the Earth's climate variables, including surface temperature, outgoing longwave radiation, cooling rates, and frozen surface extent, are sensitive to far-IR surface emissivity, a largely unconstrained, temporally and spatially heterogeneous scaling factor for the blackbody radiation from the surface at wavelengths ...

A metal halide perovskite‐based photoanode integrated with a CoNiFe layered double hydroxide (LDH) cocatalyst is reported for selective glucose oxidation reaction (GOR), achieving simultaneous and unassisted photoelectrochemical hydrogen production. This system delivers high photocurrent density, excellent Faradaic efficiency of GOR, and strong techno ...

Infrared cirrus - New components of the extended infrared emission
Extended sources of far-infrared emission superposed on the zodiacal and galactic backgrounds are found at high galactic latitudes and near the ecliptic plane. Clouds of interstellar dust at color temperatures as high as 35 K account for much of this complex structure, but the relationship to H I column density is not simple.

This work reports the self‐assembly of a pyrene derivative into two distinct nanostructures and their application in visible‐light photocatalysis. The two nanostructures exhibit completely different yet complementary photocatalytic activities, promoting either H2 or H2O2 evolution.

Effect of Preparation Process Parameters on the Infrared Emissivity of Fluorocarbon Resin/Aluminum Powder Coatings [PDF]
In order to obtain coatings with low emissivity, most studies focus on the screening of resin and filler components. However, the influence of process parameters on emissivity during the coating preparation process was rarely studied, and the interaction

Unidentified Infrared Emission Features [PDF]
AbstractWhen referring to unidentified infrared emission features, one has in mind the series of aromatic IR bands (AIBs) between 3.3 and 15 μm that are observed in emission in many environments where UV photons irradiate interstellar matter. These bands are now used by astronomers to classify objects and characterize local physical conditions. However,

Bimetallic Nanoparticles as Cocatalysts for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production
Recent developments have introduced bimetallic nanoparticles as effective cocatalysts for photocatalytic systems. This review explores the rapidly expanding research on bimetallic cocatalysts for photocatalytic production of hydrogen, emphasizing the creation of carrier‐selective contacts, localized surface plasmon resonance effects, methodologies for ...

The NNR‐n series of oligomeric nanographenes delivers exceptional emission performance. This work shows that this performance is originated by their ladder‐type structure, which effectively deactivates low‐frequency vibronic modes. This deactivation neglects the main pathway for non‐emissive deactivation, even in the near‐infrared region. The potential

Infrared emission from protostars
The emergent spectral energy distribution at infrared to radio wavelengths is calculated for the simplest theoretical construct of a low-mass protostar. It is shown that the emergent spectrum in the infrared is insensitive to the details assumed for the temperature profile as long as allowance is made for a transition from optically thick to optically ...
