Spitzer Mid-Infrared Spectroscopy of 70um-Selected Distant Luminous Infrared Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We present mid-infrared spectroscopy obtained with the Spitzer Space Telescope of a sample of 11 optically faint, infrared luminous galaxies selected from a Spitzer MIPS 70um imaging survey of the NDWFS Bootes field.

Observations of the Hubble Deep Field with the Infrared Space Observatory V. Spectral energy distributions starburst models and star formation history [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We have modelled the spectral energy distributions of the 13 Hubble Deep Field (HDF) galaxies reliably detected by the Infrared Space Observatoiy (ISO).

Discovery of two infrared supernovae: a new window on the SN search [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We report the discovery of two supernovae (SN 1999gw and SN 2001db) obtained within the framework of an infrared monitoring campaign of Luminous Infrared Galaxies, aimed at detecting obscured supernovae.

Infrared galaxies

open access: yesSecond international workshop on particle physics and the early universe (COSMO-98), 1999
To study large-scale structure in the Universe a full census of the contents are required. This is even more important when the processes of galaxy formation are being investigated. In the last year the population of distant galaxies that emit most of their energy in the infrared waveband have been studied in unprecedented detail.

Spitzer Observations of Passive and Star Forming Early-type Galaxies: an Infrared Color-Color Sequence

open access: yes, 2009
We describe the infrared properties of a large sample of early type galaxies, comparing data from the Spitzer archive with Ks-band emission from 2MASS.

The 2dF galaxy redshift survey: near-infrared galaxy luminosity functions [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2001
We combine the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) Extended Source Catalogue and the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey to produce an infrared selected galaxy catalogue with 17 173 measured redshifts. We use this extensive data set to estimate the galaxy luminosity functions in the J- and KS-bands.

Silicates in Ultraluminous Infrared Galaxies

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2008
We analyze the mid-infrared (MIR) spectra of ultraluminous infrared galaxies (ULIRGs) observed with the Spitzer Space Telescope's Infrared Spectrograph. Dust emission dominates the MIR spectra of ULIRGs, and the reprocessed radiation that emerges is independent of the underlying heating spectrum.

Core Revelations: The Star Formation and Active Galactic Nucleus Connection at the Heart of NGC 7469

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We investigate the star formation–active galactic nucleus (AGN) connection in the Seyfert 1 NGC 7469 using James Webb Space Telescope mid-infrared spectroscopic integral field unit (IFU) data.

Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum for Image Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum (SHWB), a rotation‐ and translation‐invariant descriptor that captures higher‐order (phase) correlations in signals, is introduced. Combining wavelet scattering, bispectral analysis, and group theory, SHWB achieves interpretable, data‐efficient representations and demonstrates competitive performance across texture,
