The accuracy of infrared photometry with arrays

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1991
The photometric accuracy and repeatability of an InSb array in the infrared camera IRCAM is investigated. Measurements of standard stars are described; these were made using the United Kingdom Infrared 3.8-m Telescope (UKIRT) over five nights in May 1988, as part of an observational program on globular clusters. Observations were made at wavelengths of

Infrared photometry of FG Sge

Astrophysics, 1987
The results of UBVRJHKLM photometry of FG Sge made during 1985 are discussed. It follows from analysis of the observations that the spectral class of FG Sge in 1985 corresponded to G(1 +/- 0.5)I; for r = 4.1 kpc, the radius of the star is 95R/sub circle/ and L = 8.9 x 10/sup 3/L/sub circle/

The Rise and Improvement of Infrared Photometry

2011
Broad-band ground-based infrared photometry has been carried on ever since Harold Johnson adopted wide-band filters that only loosely matched the Earth’s atmospheric windows. Here we describe the “evolution” of filters to produce improved precision, and suggest why it has taken so long to reach the high precision that this spectral region can provide ...

Infrared photometry and polarimetry of blazars

2019
A sample of blazars has been studied with infrared photometry and polarimetry in the J,H & K wavebands, using the U.K.I.R.T. in Hawaii. The objects observed for this thesis are part of an ongoing monitoring programme, for which a total of 35 objects have now been studied, many for the first time with infrared polarimetry.
