The G292.0+1.8 pulsar wind nebula in the mid-infrared
G292.0+1.8 is a Cas A-like supernova remnant that contains the young pulsar PSR J1124-5916 powering a compact torus-like pulsar wind nebula visible in X-rays. A likely counterpart to the nebula has been detected in the optical VRI bands.

The THz drive of the Mott insulating state of a rare‐earth nickelate induces instantaneous insulator‐metal transition via quantum tunneling of valence electrons across the bandgap. This transition is pure electronic and highly non‐thermal, which may find its applications in ultrafast opto‐electronics with enhanced performance and minimal device size ...

Far-infrared rays control prostate cancer cells _in vitro_ and _in vivo_ [PDF]
We introduce a new effective method to control hormone refractory prostate cancer cells by using an activated rubber/resin form (RB), far-infrared ray emitter, with or without sodium butyrate (SB).

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Inverse-Compton gamma rays in the galaxy [PDF]
Compton gamma rays with energies 1 MeV largely results from scattering between electrons, with energies 100 MeV, and photons in the optical and infrared range and the 2.7 K universal blackbody radiation.
