The Mid‐Infrared Properties of X‐Ray Sources [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2008
We combine the results of the Spitzer IRAC Shallow Survey and the Chandra XBootes Survey of the 8.5 square degrees Bootes field of the NOAO Deep Wide- Field Survey to produce the largest comparison of mid-IR and X-ray sources to date. The comparison is limited to sources with X-ray fluxes >8x10-15 erg cm-2s-1 in the 0.5-7.0 keV range and mid-IR ...

Near-infrared counterparts of ultraluminous X-ray sources [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2014
In this paper we present the results of the first systematic search for counterparts to nearby ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs) in the near-infrared (NIR). We observed 62 ULXs in 37 galaxies within 10 Mpc and discovered 17 candidate NIR counterparts.

Characteristics of Metabolic Calorific Values Measured by Infrared Thermal Imaging in Female Adults with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis: an Exploratory Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesZhongguo quanke yixue, 2022
Background Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) is an autoimmune disease, and a major cause of hypothyroidism. Due to its insidious nature, non-presence of clear clinical symptoms, there is often a delay in getting a diagnosis for HT, which leads to ...

Gamma ray and infrared emission from the M87 jet and torus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The existence of intrinsic obscuration of Fanaroff-Riley I objects is a controversial topic. M87, the nearest such object, is puzzling in that although it has very massive central black hole it has a relatively low luminosity, suggesting it is in a ...

Topological Network Properties of Fractal-Like Metallic Nanoparticle Patterns and Their Effects on Optical Resonances

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Fractal-like nanoparticle two-dimensional patterns forming in diffusion-limited aggregation show variant spatial patterns. However, they have invariant statistical properties in their network topologies, even though their formation is completely in self ...
