The Determination of Methimazole by Infrared Spectrophotometry
Abstract A method for the determination of methimazole by column chromatography and infrared spectrophotometry was subjected to collaborative study in four district laboratories. Although the results were favorable, they were not sufficiently precise nor accurate to recommend the method for adoption.

Infrared Spectrophotometry as a Means for Identification of Mosquitoes.
SummaryCrude aqueous extracts of Culex molestus, Culex quinquefasciatus, and Aedes aegypti adult mosquitoes were identified by infrared spectrophotometry. The most important differences were the relative intensities of the peaks at about 6.95 and 7.2 μ, and the relative depth and shape of the broad band from about 8.6 to 10 μ.

5-micron photometry of late-type dwarfs [PDF]
We present narrowband-M photometry of nine low-mass dwarfs with spectral types ranging from M2.5 to L0.5. Combining the (L'-M') colours derived from our observations with data from the literature, we find colours consistent with a Rayleigh-Jeans flux ...

The quantitative analysis of polyvinylpyrrolidone by infrared spectrophotometry
Abstract The quantitative assay of the binding agent polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) in granules of magnesium carbonate has been shown to be possible. The method is to determine the infrared absorption spectrum of a chloroform extract. Quantities of PVP down to 0·1 mg can be successfully assayed to ±1 % in solution as dilute as 0·1 % w/v.

Infrared photometry and spectrophotometry of Titan [PDF]
The wide variation in infrared brightness temperature of Titan is explained in terms of a greenhouse effect. Radiometric observations in the infrared and microwave frequencies indicate an alternate hot atmospheric model. Methane, ammonia, hydrogen atoms,

An infrared-submillimeter study of star-forming regions selected by the ISOSS 170um survey
Using the ISOPHOT Serendipity Survey (ISOSS) at 170um a sample of galactic star-forming regions exhibiting very cold dust temperatures (< 20 K) and high masses (> 100 M_sun) has been established.

Molecular Signatures in the Near Infrared Dayside Spectrum of HD 189733b [PDF]
We have measured the dayside spectrum of HD 189733b between 1.5 and 2.5 microns using the NICMOS instrument on the Hubble Space Telescope. The emergent spectrum contains significant modulation, which we attribute to the presence of molecular bands seen ...

An absolutely calibrated effective temperature scale from the InfraRed Flux Method [PDF]
Various effective temperature scales have been proposed over the years. Despite much work and the high internal precision usually achieved, systematic differences of order 100 K (or more) among various scales are still present.

Tests of the Accelerating Universe with Near-Infrared Observations of a High-Redshift Type Ia Supernova [PDF]
We have measured the rest-frame B,V, and I-band light curves of a high-redshift type Ia supernova (SN Ia), SN 1999Q (z=0.46), using HST and ground-based near-infrared detectors.
