In Situ Formation of a Melt‐Solid Interface Toward Stable Oxygen Reduction in Protonic Ceramic Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
Protonic ceramic fuel cells offer a promising route to generate power efficiently but face critical challenges in achieving industrially viable activity and stability at their cathodes in CO2‐containing air. This report proposes a new cathode material design strategy to enable the cathode to be both catalytically active and CO2 tolerant through the ...

Nanoscale infrared spectroscopy

open access: yesMaterials Today, 2010
In the early days of scanning probe microscopy, researchers and instrumentation developers were often postulating about the future and, perhaps one day, the advent of the “lab-on-a-tip.” While the technology has seen the development of highly spatially resolved topography imaging coupled to a series of different physical measurements, it is only ...

The Route to Artery Mimetics: Hybrid Bioinks for Embedded Bioprinting of Multimaterial Cylindrical Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The fabrication of a cellularized, multilayered 3D printed cylindrical model comprising hybrid bioinks inspired by the natural extracellular environment as an approach to artery mimetics, is presented. Using embedded bioprinting, interlayer crosslinking of self‐supporting concentric cylinders is achieved.

High‐Performance Low‐Emissivity Paints Enabled by N‐Doped Poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) for Energy‐Efficient Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a scalable and colored low‐emissivity (low‐e) paint achieved by spraying an ultrathin n‐doped poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) coating onto various colored substrates. The low‐e paint enhances thermal regulation by reducing mid‐infrared thermal emissivity to 0.19, thereby stabilizing indoor temperatures across diverse climates ...
