Infrared spectroscopy in superfluid helium droplets
For more than two decades, encapsulation in superfluid helium nanodroplets has served as a reliable technique for probing the structure and dynamics of molecules and clusters at a low temperature of ≈0.37 K. Due to weak interactions between molecules and

Watermelon ripeness detector using near infrared spectroscopy
This study aimed to design and develop a watermelon ripeness detector using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS). The research problem being solved in this study is developing a prototype wherein the watermelon ripeness can be detected without the need to ...

Fully Stabilized Mid-Infrared Frequency Comb for High-Precision Molecular Spectroscopy [PDF]
A fully stabilized mid-infrared optical frequency comb spanning from 2.9 to 3.4 um is described. The comb is based on half-harmonic generation in a femtosecond optical parametric oscillator, which transfers the high phase coherence of a fully stabilized near-infrared Er-doped fiber laser comb to the mid-infrared region.

Versatile silicon-waveguide supercontinuum for coherent mid-infrared spectroscopy
Infrared spectroscopy is a powerful tool for basic and applied science. The molecular spectral fingerprints in the 3 um to 20 um region provide a means to uniquely identify molecular structure for fundamental spectroscopy, atmospheric chemistry, trace ...

Mid-infrared spectroscopy of two luminous submillimeter galaxies at z~2.8 [PDF]
Using the Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) on board the Spitzer Space Telescope, we have obtained rest frame mid-infrared spectroscopy of two bright submillimeter galaxies. SMMJ02399-0136 at z=2.81 shows a superposition of PAH emission features and a mid-infrared continuum, indicating significant and roughly equal contributions to its bolometric luminosity ...
