Design of an adiabatic demagnetization refrigerator for studies in astrophysics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
An adiabatic demagnetization refrigerator was designed for cooling infrared bolometers for studies in astrophysics and aeronomy. The design was tailored to the requirements of a Shuttle sortie experiment. The refrigerator should be capable of maintaining

Highly Efficient and Environmentally Stable Radiative Cooling Fabric: Integrating Photoluminescence and Hierarchical Core–Shell Fibers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A scalable radiative cooling fabric engineered with a multi‐layer assembly core–shell structure and integrated photoluminescent materials is reported. The fabric exhibits remarkable environmental stability, including UV resistance, mechanical durability, hydrophobicity, stain resistance, thermal stability, and flame retardancy, demonstrating its ...

Comparison between tympanic and anal temperature with a clinical infrared ray thermometer in dogs Comparação entre a temperatura timpânica e a temperatura anal usando um termômetro clínico de raio infravermelho em cães

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2006
A clinical thermometer of infrared rays was used twice to record consecutively the temperature of the tympanic membrane in each ear and in the anus of 53 dogs. Temperatures did not differ significantly between organs, and were strongly correlated.

A device for rapid determination of thermophysical properties of phase-change wind-tunnel models [PDF]

open access: yes
An experimental method for direct measurement of the thermophysical properties of wind tunnel heat transfer models was developed. The technique consists of placing the model under a bank of high intensity, radiant heaters so that the fast opening water ...

Antenna Effect in Halogen‐Containing ZnSm Coordination Compounds: Utilizing Colorimetry for a Room‐Temperature Tunable Ratiometric Molecular Thermometer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ZnSm‐Cl dinuclear molecular complex was synthesized through a simple one‐pot method. ZnL and Sm3+ exhibit complementary temperature‐dependent emission As the temperature increases, a noticeable color difference of ZnSm‐Cl can be observed within the room temperature range of 253‐333 K.

Temperature‐Driven Emission Redistribution of Yb2+ in SrB4O7 Enables Highly Sensitive Optical Thermometry Supported by Multiple Linear Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel optical thermometer exploits the rare UV emission of Yb2+ ions in a SrB4O7 host, enabling highly sensitive, non‐contact temperature measurements from 80 to 420 K. The applied multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis results in a multiple increase in the resulting temperature sensitivity.

Clinical Applying of Infra-red Ear Thermometer

open access: yesHuli yanjiu, 2002
To understand the clinical use of infra-red ear thermometer, 100 afebrile cases (oral temperature less than 37.5℃)were selected randomly as afebrile group. Another 50 febrile cases (oral temperature higher than 37.5℃)were selected as febrile group. Oral,
