Hot Metal Temperature Prediction at Basic-Lined Oxygen Furnace (BOF) Converter Using IR Thermometry and Forecasting Techniques

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
In oxygen steelmaking, the charge calculation strongly depends on hot metal temperature prediction. Although a hot metal temperature drop from the blast furnace in a steel plant may be too complex to be accurately modeled in detail, the combined use of ...

All‐Optical Thermometry with Infrared Emitting Defects in Diamond

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research
Diamond color centers (optically active defects) can be used for all‐optical thermometry for non‐invasive and localized temperature measurements. The visible to near‐infrared photoluminescence of these defects is greatly attenuated in optical fibres and ...

Gold‐Leaf‐Based Plant‐Wearable Electronic Tattoos for Temperature Monitoring in Smart Agriculture

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 10, October 2026.
A temperature‐specific electronic tattoo is fabricated by hot‐pressing gold leaves onto commercial tattoo paper and patterning the gold layer by laser ablation, resulting in simple and low‐cost fabrication process. The tattoo paper is subsequently removed, leaving only the patterned electrode on the leaf surface.

Temperature Monitoring of Iron Molybdate Catalysts during ODH Reactions Using Coupled Operando Raman/XRD Analysis

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 19, 14 October 2026.
Exothermic reactions can cause a temperature increase in the catalyst bed under operating conditions. We introduce a novel approach to measure the catalyst temperature based on operando Raman/X‐ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis and illustrate its application to the depth‐dependent temperature monitoring of iron molybdate catalysts during oxidative ...
