Molecularly Engineered Highly Stable Memristors with Ultra‐Low Operational Voltage: Integrating Synthetic DNA with Quasi‐2D Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecularly engineered memristors integrating Ag nanoparticle–embedded synthetic DNA with quasi‐2D halide perovskites enable ultra‐low‐operational voltage, forming‐free resistive switching, and record‐low power density. This synergistic integration of customized DNA and 2D OHP in bio‐hybrid architecture enhances charge transport, reduces variability ...

Festo: Blessing to Patent Holders or Thorn in Their Sides? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The Supreme Court makes another attempt to strike a balance between protecting an inventor\u27s patent rights and ensuring adequate notice to the public of what constitutes patent infringement. This iBrief discusses the Supreme Court ruling in Festo Corp.

Microscopic Insights into Magnetic Warping and Time‐Reversal Symmetry Breaking in Topological Surface States of Rare‐Earth‐Doped Bi2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Information value of patent litigation and industry competition in Taiwan

open access: yesTechnological and Economic Development of Economy, 2013
Internationally, news on patent infringement is often seen, and patent infringement law-suits affect stock prices. However, fewer studies have discussed how market reflects corporate value and impact of patent infringement lawsuit on investment returns ...

Chiral Acoustic Phonon and Conservation of Pseudoangular Momentum in α‐Quartz

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Chiral acoustic phonons in α‐quartz are probed via Brillouin light scattering, exploiting the photon's helicity and the crystal's handedness. The interaction obeys a selection rule arising from pseudoangular momentum conservation, enabling direct optical access to phonon chirality in nonsymmorphic crystals.

The Extraterritorial Reach of Trademarks on the Internet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The advent of the Internet means incredible opportunity for global interaction. Consumers in Asia can buy from a small business in Louisiana, and businesses can advertise to a much wider market for a fraction of the cost of traditional media.

Heptazine‐Assisted Multi‐Resonance TADF Emitters With Fast Reverse Intersystem Crossing for Efficient Solution‐Processed OLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Heptazine‐assisted MR‐TADF emitters enable narrowband yellow emission with high efficiency at high luminance in solution‐processed OLEDs. In doped films, HAP‐3CzBN achieves a record‐fast kRISC of 1.19 × 106 s−1. The optimized HAP‐3CzBN devices deliver 15.5% EQEmax with negligible roll‐off at 1000 cd m−2, 11.2% at 10,000 cd m−2, and a benchmark 20.3 ...

Perspective: OLED Displays Singing with the Blues

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
While blue pixels consume approximately 50% of the energy of OLED display front planes, in the 25 years since their invention, 100% internal efficiency triplet‐controlled phosphorescent OLEDs have not met the stability standards necessary for their adoption.

Patent Accidents: Questioning Strict Liability in Patent Law [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Accidental infringement of patent rights is a pervasive and growing problem in the Information Age. As IP rights proliferate and expand in scope, it is becoming increasingly easy for companies and individuals to inadvertently infringe patents. When
