Automated infusion pump

Medical & Biological Engineering, 1976
A peristaltic pump was designed for either manual or computer-controlled operations; it provides flow rates over a large dynamic range (0·01 to 30 ml/min). Driven by a stepper motor in which the stepping rate is determined manually with digital switches or under remote control, the pump is capable of operating in either direction with negative or ...

Understanding Infusion Pumps

Anesthesia & Analgesia, 2018
Infusion systems are complicated electromechanical systems that are used to deliver anesthetic drugs with moderate precision. Four types of systems are described—gravity feed, in-line piston, peristaltic, and syringe. These systems are subject to a number of failure modes—occlusion, disconnection, siphoning, infiltration, and air bubbles.

Pump Infusion of Pilocarpine

Ophthalmologica, 1975
Pilocarpine was infused into the conjunctival sac of glaucoma patients with the Sage Model 216 pump. Doses as high as 20 mg were given in 30 min without ocular or systemic toxicity. The ocular hypotension effect, in the same group of patients, was doubled over 4-percent pilocarpine drops given four times daily.

Evaluation report: Infusion pumps

Journal of Medical Engineering & Technology, 1986
'Health Equipment Information', No. 147, published in October 1985, is the fifth in the series dealing with infusion pumps and contains evaluation reports on five volumetric devices. These are the Braun Infusomat Secura, the Ivac 560, the Ivac Neo-mate 565, the Travenol 6100 and the Travenol 8000. Technical performance assessment was carried out at the
