Surgical treatment of recurrent inguinal hernias

2958 patients with inguinal hernias are operated on. There were 2720 (91,95%) males and 238 (8,05%) females. The patient's age was from 18 till 86 years. Relapse of hernia occurred in 409 (17,4%) from 2351 patients after tension hernioplasty.
