Inhaler technique and patient's preference for dry powder inhaler devices
Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery, 2013Inhaled therapy has a central place in the management of obstructive lung diseases, but a large number of patients are unable to use their inhalers correctly with a consequent reduction in therapeutic benefit. Correct use of inhalers is, therefore, crucial for efficient therapy, and acceptance of the device can improve patients' compliance.

An Improved Technique for Inhalation Imaging
Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 1982Because of several limitations associated with conventional ventilation scintigraphy using radioactive gases, an alternative method appears desirable. This paper describes in detail, an inhalation technique that employs heated, nebulized Tc-99m DTPA aerosol delivered from a compact, shielded unit.

Particle engineering techniques for inhaled biopharmaceuticals
Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 2006Formulation of biopharmaceuticals for pulmonary delivery is faced with the challenge of producing particles with the optimal properties for deep lung deposition without altering the native conformation of these molecules. Traditional techniques such as milling are continuously being improved while newer and more advanced techniques such as spray drying,

Optimal inhalation technique with terbutaline Turbuhaler
European Respiratory Journal, 1989The bronchodilator response after four different modes of inhalation of 0.25 mg terbutaline from a Turbuhaler was assessed, in a double-blind cross-over study, of 14 asthmatic children aged 8-14 yrs (mean 11.6 yrs). The children inhaled as fast as possible (mean peak inspiratory flow rate = 53 l.min-1), because fast inhalations have been found to be ...
