Psychological stress and physiological outcomes: investigating the impact of attention biases and emotional regulation in Chinese military service members

open access: yesBMC Public Health
Military service members are frequently exposed to high-stress situations that profoundly impact both their psychological and physiological health. Understanding the interplay between stress and its multifaceted impacts is crucial for designing targeted ...

Electrophysiological Characteristics of Inhibitive Control for Adults with Different Physiological or Psychological Obesity

open access: yesNutrients
Individuals exhibiting high scores on the fatness subscale of the negative-physical-self scale (NPSS-F) are characterized by heightened preoccupation with body fat accompanied by negative body image perceptions, often leading to excessive dieting behaviors.

Neuromorphic Near‐Sensor and In‐Sensor Computing Enabled by Next‐Generation Material‐Based Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This Review presents a structural framework that classifies neuromorphic sensing into near‐sensor and in‐sensor architectures, clarifying physical coupling between sensing and computation. The framework connects neural and synaptic device functions with recent advances in optical, mechanical, and chemical sensing, compares energy consumption and ...

Lateral hypothalamic neurotensin neurons promote arousal and hyperthermia.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2019
Sleep and wakefulness are greatly influenced by various physiological and psychological factors, but the neuronal elements responsible for organizing sleep-wake behavior in response to these factors are largely unknown.

Astrocytic FDX1 Contributes to Copper Dyshomeostasis‐associated Synaptic Dysfunction in Depression and Is Modulated by Exercise

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic stress disrupts copper homeostasis and promotes copper accumulation in the prelimbic cortex, leading to astrocytic FDX1 upregulation. Elevated astrocytic FDX1 impairs calcium signaling, induces structural atrophy, and disrupts synaptic function, contributing to depressive‐like behaviors. Physical exercise reverses these alterations by restoring

Beyond Potency: Emerging Determinants and Optimization Strategies Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy of Adult Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Adult stem cell therapy requires more than high in vitro potency. This review proposes a systems framework in which cell‐intrinsic programs, instructive microenvironmental cues, and pre‐/post‐delivery engineering are co‐designed under standardized translational rules.

Does emotion dysregulation mediate the relationship between behavioural inhibition and psychopathological symptoms?

open access: yes, 2011
Failure to address poor mental health during childhood and adolescence results in higher risk of suicide, substance misuse, self-harm, and lower achievement in education and employment (Richards et al., 2009).

Multi‐Component Functionalized Bifidobacterium Longum Hydrogel for Multi‐Target Integrated Therapy of Colitis‐Associated Anxiety and Depression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pH/MMP dual‐responsive Bifidobacterium longum (BL) hydrogel (INPs@BL@Gel) functionalized with baicalin, tyrosine, and inulin is constructed. It enables gastric protection, inflammation‐targeted release, and prolonged intestinal colonization. By remodeling gut microbiota, elevating beneficial neuroactive metabolites (homovanillic acid, short‐chain ...

Single-cell transcriptome profiling implicates the psychological stress-induced disruption of spermatogenesis

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Nucleic Acids
Male infertility has emerged as a global issue, partly attributed to psychological stress. However, the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the adverse effects of psychological stress on male reproductive function remain elusive.

Driver Behavior Modeling with Subjective Risk‐Driven Inverse Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A subjective risk‐driven inverse reinforcement learning framework is proposed to model driver decision‐making. It infers drivers' risk perception and risk tolerance from driving data. A learnable risk threshold is used to regulate decisions, enabling interpretable and human‐like driving behavior decisions.
