Inhibition of Spermatogenesis

1974
The effect upon spermatogenesis of subdermal silastic capsules containing testosterone in combination with various oral drugs was studied in groups of subfertile men. Group 1 received 25 mg norethisterone daily by mouth in conjunction with 6 norethindrone implants and 3 testosterone implants.

Propagation of inhibition

Vision Research, 1981
Abstract Visual spatio-temporal inhibition effects were investigated with the aid of “jumping flashes” (pairs of point flashes, separated in time and space). Plots of the visibility of the jumping flashes against the interval time, produced visibility curves in which two dips (representing inhibition effects) were observed.

On shunting inhibition

Biological Cybernetics, 1986
The interaction between excitation and inhibition is analyzed for nerve cylinders when reversal potentials for synaptic action are included. Both impulsive and sustained conductance changes are employed to model synaptic action. Exact results, in terms of Green's functions are obtained for the solutions of the cable equation with reversal potentials ...

Diagnosis of enzyme inhibition based on the degree of inhibition

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 2003
In this work, a method for the diagnosis of kinetic inhibition, based on the dependence of the degree of inhibition (epsilon(i)) on the inhibitor concentration [I] and on the substrate concentration [S], is presented. Because the degree of inhibition is a ratio between rates, kinetic data are normalized by the introduction of an internal control-the ...

The relations among inhibition and interference control functions: a latent-variable analysis.

Journal of experimental psychology. General, 2004
This study used data from 220 adults to examine the relations among 3 inhibition-related functions. Confirmatory factor analysis suggested that Prepotent Response Inhibition and Resistance to Distractor Interference were closely related, but both were ...

Inhibition of Nitrosation

1993
Humans are exposed through ingestion or inhalation to preformed N-nitroso compounds (NOC) in the environment and through the endogenous nitrosation of amino precursors in the body. Activated macrophages and bacterial strains isolated from human infections can enzymatically produce nitrosating agents and NOC from precursors at neutral pH.

Abstract 1006: Drug-tolerant persister cancer cells are vulnerable to GPX4 inhibition

, 2017
Acquired drug resistance prevents chemotherapy and targeted therapy from achieving stable and complete responses. Emerging evidence implicates a key role for nonmutational mechanisms during early stages of acquired drug resistance.

Inhibition of Lactation

Drugs, 1975
PIP: The mechanism and hormonal regulation of lactation is explained and illustrated with a schematic representation. Circulating estrogen above a critical amount seems to be the inhibitory factor controlling lactation during pregnancy. Once delivery occurs, the level of estrogen falls, that of prolactin rises, and lactation begins.
