Inhomogeneous Mode-Coupling Theory and Growing Dynamic Length in Supercooled Liquids

open access: yes, 2006
We extend Mode-Coupling Theory (MCT) to inhomogeneous situations, relevant for supercooled liquid in pores, close to a surface, or in an external field.

SI‐bioATRP in Mesoporous Silica for Size‐Exclusion Driven Local Polymer Placement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An enzyme‐catalyzed surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI‐bioATRP) of an anionic monomer within mesoporous silica particles, using hemoglobin as a catalyst, allows for controlling the location of the formed polymer via size‐exclusion effects between the nanopores and the biomacromolecules, thereby opening routes to functional ...

Artificial Amorphous Interface Matters for Boosting High‐Voltage Stable LiCoO2 Cathode

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The amorphization of phosphate‐based surface layer with favorable Li‐ion conducting kinetics is realized by precisely tailored atomic‐level fabrication. This amorphous coating enables the lithium cobalt oxide (LCO) cathode superior high‐voltage rate capability and cycling performance, owing to the fast interfacial ionic transport and maintained ...

Isotropic singularity in inhomogeneous brane cosmological models

open access: yes, 2003
We discuss the asymptotic dynamical evolution of spatially inhomogeneous brane-world cosmological models close to the initial singularity. By introducing suitable scale-invariant dependent variables and a suitable gauge, we write the evolution equations ...

Is Time Inhomogeneous?

open access: yesInternational Letters of Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy, 2014
In this article, we discuss probability of inhomogeneous time in high or low energy scale of physics. Consequently, the possibility was investigated of using theories such as varying speed of light (VSL) and fractal mathematics to build a framework within which answers can be found to some of standard cosmological problems and physics theories on the ...

Encoding Magnetic Anisotropies in Digital Light Processing 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hybrid magnetic device—combining a coaxial coil within a nested Halbach array—is presented, integrated into a DLP 3D printer to enable spatially resolved magnetic field control. This system enables complex, multimodal responses by programming liquid crystal elastomer resins for magnetic and thermal actuation, and by inducing electrically conductive ...

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Magnetic Force Microscopy Signatures of Higher‐Order Skyrmions and Antiskyrmions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic force microscopy operated under vacuum conditions enables the qualitative identification of higher‐order skyrmions and antiskyrmions in Co/Ni multilayers at room temperature. Distinct stray‐field contrast signatures arise from vertical Bloch lines and complex domain‐wall configurations.

Analytical results for a coagulation/decoagulation model on an inhomogeneous lattice

open access: yesSciPost Physics, 2017
We show that an inhomogeneous coagulation/decoagulation model can be mapped to a quadratic fermionic model via a Jordan-Wigner transformation. The spectrum for this inhomogeneous model is computed exactly and the spectral gap is described for some ...

Inhomogeneous Color Superconductivity

open access: yes, 2003
We discuss the possibility that in finite density QCD an anisotropic phase is realized. This case might arise for quarks with different chemical potential and/or different masses. In this phase crystalline structures may be formed. We consider this possibility and we describe, in the context of an effective lagrangian, the corresponding phonons as the ...
