Drag Force for Asymmetrically Grafted Colloids in Polymer Solutions
We consider the situation in which a colloidal particle modifies locally the solvent leading to a spatially dependent viscosity. This situation is typical for colloidal particles in crowded environment, for example DNA-grafted particles in a polymer ...

Density inhomogeneities and Rashba spin-orbit coupling interplay in oxide interfaces [PDF]
There is steadily increasing evidence that the two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) formed at the interface of some insulating oxides like LaAlO3/SrTiO3 and LaTiO3/SrTiO3 is strongly inhomogeneous.

Anomalous Diffusion: A Basic Mechanism for the Evolution of Inhomogeneous Systems [PDF]
In this article we review classical and recent results in anomalous diffusion and provide mechanisms useful for the study of the fundamentals of certain processes, mainly in condensed matter physics, chemistry and biology.

A strongly inhomogeneous superfluid in an iron-based superconductor [PDF]
Although the possibility of spatial variations in the superfluid of unconventional, strongly correlated superconductors has been suggested1–7, it is not known whether such inhomogeneities—if they exist—are driven by disorder, strong scattering or other ...

Size Measurement of Laser-Induced Damage in Large-Aperture Final Optics
In this paper, a hierarchical kernel extreme learning machine (HK-ELM) is proposed to solve the problem that the size of laser-induced damage (LID) cannot be accurately measured under the condition of inhomogeneous total internal reflection illumination.

In this article, multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for an inhomogeneous singular biharmonic equation with Rellich potential are studied. Firstly, a negative energy solution of the studied equations is achieved via the Ekeland's variational principle ...

Inhomogeneous string cosmologies [PDF]
We present exact inhomogeneous and anisotropic cosmological solutions of low-energy string theory containing dilaton and axion fields. The spacetime metric possesses cylindrical symmetry. The solutions describe ever-expanding universes with an initial curvature singularity and contain known homogeneous solutions as subcases.

Inhomogeneous Partition Regularity [PDF]
We say that the system of equations $Ax = b$, where $A$ is an integer matrix and $b$ is a (non-zero) integer vector, is partition regular if whenever the integers are finitely coloured there is a monochromatic vector $x$ with $Ax = b.$ Rado proved that the system $Ax = b$ is partition regular if and only if it has a constant solution.
