AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

An inverse problem for two-dimensional equations of finding the thermal conductivity of the initial distribution

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2015
The inverse problem of finding the initial distribution has been studied on the basis of formulas for the solution of the first initial-boundary value problem for the inhomogeneous two-dimentional heat equation. The uniqueness of the solution of the direct

The Well-posedness of the Null-Timelike Boundary Problem for Quasilinear Waves

open access: yes, 2011
The null-timelike initial-boundary value problem for a hyperbolic system of equations consists of the evolution of data given on an initial characteristic surface and on a timelike worldtube to produce a solution in the exterior of the worldtube.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Smoothness of solutions of conjugate boundary-value problems on a measure chain

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2000
In this paper we consider the n-th order $Delta$-differential equation (often refered to as a differential equation on a measure chain) $$u^{Delta_n}(t) = f(t, u(sigma(t)),dots, u^{Delta_{n-1}}(sigma(t)))$$ satisfying n-point conjugate boundary ...

INTEGRAL TRANSFORMATION FOR THE THIRD BOUNDARY-VALUE PROBLEM OF NON-STATIONARY HEAT CONDUCTIVITY WITH A CONTINUOUS SPECTRUM OF EIGENVALUES

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2017
The mathematical theory of constructing an integral transformation and the inversion formula for it for the third boundary value problem in a domain with a continuous spectrum of eigenvalues are developed.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Baltic sea deep salinity: an initial and boundary value problem

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Baltic Sea salinity is modelled using a two-box model. The simplistic approach allows for very long integrations where a large part of the phase space of the model can be probed. Particular emphasis is put on the salinity dynamics in the deeper parts

On an initial-boundary value problem for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1979
We study an initial-boundary value problem for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, a simple mathematical model for the interaction between electromagnetic waves and a plasma layer.
