Fourier representation of geometrical imperfection for probabilistic buckling analysis

open access: yesJurnal Ilmiah SINERGI
This research studies the first part of the failure of a compression member structure due to buckling. This unstable equilibrium collapse, exposes brittle failure which occurs suddenly and therefore should be avoided wherever possible.

Waveguide Photoactuators: Materials, Fabrication, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Waveguide photoactuators convert guided light into mechanical motion. Their tethered‐flexible design enables minimally invasive surgery and confined‐space robotics. This review aims to guide materials selection, device design, and system integration, accelerating the transition of waveguide photoactuators from laboratory prototypes to versatile ...

Influence of Initial Imperfections on Nonlinear Free Vibration of Elastic Bars

open access: yes, 1985
Nonlinear free vibration of elastic bars possessing initial imperfections is studied. This generalizes the problem of a perfect bar studied previously by Woinowsky-Krieger and Burgreen.

Finite Element Modeling and Analysis for Creep Buckling of a Cylindrical Shell Subjected External Lateral Pressure with Local Wall Thinning

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The corrosion, erosion, or worn defects on cylindrical shells often lead to localized wall thinning. The influence of the local wall-thinning defects on the creep buckling behavior of the cylindrical shells serving in high-temperature environments with ...

LLM‐Integrated Human–Robot Interaction System for Microrobots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This paper proposes an LLM‐based control framework for guiding microrobots using human natural language. This framework can convert the natural human speech into safe and executable command sets for reliable navigation in complex environments. The experimental results show high accuracy and robustness in task performance, demonstrating the potential of

Comparison for Different Circumferential Weld-Induced Imperfections on Steel Silos

open access: yes, 2011
As the thin-walled structure, the buckling of steel silos is very sensitive to the initial geometric imperfections. However, these imperfections are uncertain to the shape and amplitude, so the studies of the initial geometric imperfections have important

A Brain‐Wide Atlas of Astrocytic Oxytocin Receptors Reveals a Glial Basis for Nucleus Accumbens Modulation of Affiliative Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The cellular actors of oxytocin signaling are under intense scrutiny. A brain‐wide anatomical and functional analysis in mice and rats reveals widespread expression of oxytocin receptors in astrocytes. These receptors are functionally active and, in the nucleus accumbens, selectively regulate male social affiliation.

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Integration of Spatiotemporal Multi‐Omics in Peach Fruit Unravels a Metabolic Niche and the Genetic Basis of Trichome‐Mediated Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.
