Characteristic initial value problems for integrable hyperbolic reductions of Einstein's equations

open access: yes, 2003
A unified general approach is presented for construction of solutions of the characteristic initial value problems for various integrable hyperbolic reductions of Einstein's equations for space-times with two commuting isometries in General Relativity ...

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.

Initial-value problems for hybrid Hadamard fractional differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
In this article, we discuss the existence of solutions for an initial-value problem of nonlinear hybrid differential equations of Hadamard type. The main result is proved by means of a fixed point theorem due to Dhage.

Lucas polynomials semi-analytic solution for fractional multi-term initial value problems

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2019
Herein, we use the generalized Lucas polynomials to find an approximate numerical solution for fractional initial value problems (FIVPs). The method depends on the operational matrices for fractional differentiation and integration of generalized Lucas ...

An Adaptive Human Pilot Model With Reaction Time Delay for Enhanced Adaptive Control in Piloted Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.

Nonlinear initial boundary-value problems with Riesz fractional derivative

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
We consider an initial boundary-value problem for a nonlinear partial differential equation with fractional derivative of Riesz type on a half-line.

INITIAL AND BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS FOR DIFFERENCE EQUATIONS [PDF]

open access: yes
We consider initial and boundary value problems for linear nonhomogeneous difference equations with constant coefficients. For such problems we compute the numerical values of the solutions using the discrete deconvolution.

A Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Block Diagram of the Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller. ABSTRACT This article introduces a discrete‐time robust adaptive one‐sample‐ahead preview super‐twisting sliding mode controller. A stability analysis of the controller by Lyapunov criteria is developed to demonstrate its robustness in handling both ...

On the solutions of a nonlinear system of q-difference equations

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems
In this paper, we examine the existence and uniqueness of solutions for a system of the first-order q-difference equations with multi-point and q-integral boundary conditions using various fixed point (fp) theorems.

Initial-Boundary Value Problems for Linear and Soliton PDEs

open access: yes, 2002
Evolution PDEs for dispersive waves are considered in both linear and nonlinear integrable cases, and initial-boundary value problems associated with them are formulated in spectral space.
