Experimental investigation of dwell time characteristics in high-pressure double-solenoid-valve fuel injection system

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2019
The double-solenoid-valve fuel injection system consists of an electronic unit pump and an electronic injector. It can realize the separate control of fuel supply and injection and has the advantages of adjusting pressure by cycle and flexible controlling of the injection rate.

Synergy between Boost and Valve Timings in a Highly Boosted Direct Injection Gasoline Engine Operating with Miller Cycle

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2015
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Gasoline engine downsizing has become a popular and effective approach to reduce CO2 emissions from passenger cars. This is typically achieved in the form of a boosted direct injection gasoline engine, which are typically equipped with variable valve timing

Effects of Injection Timing on Transient Performance of A Regulated Two-Stage Turbocharged Diesel Engine with Turbine Bypass Valve

International Journal of Automotive Technology, 2018
The object of this paper is to reduce soot emissions under typical 5s transient conditions of constant speed and increasing torque. And effects of fuel injection timing on combustion and emissions parameters were experimentally and numerically studied in a regulated two-stage turbocharged diesel engine with a turbine bypass valve (TBV).

Influences of Intake Charge Preparations on HCCI Combustion in a Single Cylinder Engine with Variable Valve Timing and Gasoline Direct Injection

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2006
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Intake charge preparation has strong effects on HCCI combustion, especially on the start of ignition. In this paper, the influence of different intake charge preparation modes on HCCI combustion in a single cylinder engine equipped with a hydraulic variable valve train (VVT) and gasoline direct injection (GDI ...

Effects of Combustion Phasing, Injection Timing, Relative Air-Fuel Ratio and Variable Valve Timing on SI Engine Performance and Emissions using 2,5-Dimethylfuran

SAE International Journal of Fuels and Lubricants, 2012
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Ethanol has long been regarded as the optimal gasoline-alternative biofuel for spark-ignition (SI) engines. It is used widely in Latin and North America and is increasingly accepted as an attractive option across Europe. Nevertheless, its low energy density requires a high rate

Combustion and emissions of a direct-injection diesel engine during cold start under different exhaust valve closing timing conditions

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2008
The residual gas fraction has significant effects on combustion in a diesel engine. However, few researchers have studied the effects of the residual gas on startability and emissions of a diesel engine during cold start, in which the components of the residual gas fraction were very different from those under normal operating ...

Reduction of pollutant emissions by developing a variable valve timing system in a direct injection diesel engine using computational fluid dynamics modeling

Environmental Progress & Sustainable Energy, 2016
In this work, the fluid flow in a direct injection compression ignition engine and its effects on performance and pollutant emissions are studied by using computational fluid dynamics simulation through developing of variable valve timing system by combination of the optimum valve lifting and late inlet valve closing (LIVC) strategies. For this purpose,

A Practice of Applying Downhole Real Time Gauge Data and Control-Valve Settings to Estimate Split Flow Rate for an Intelligent Injection Well System

SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 2008
Abstract Because an Intelligent Well System (IWS) normally addresses multiple zones of production/injection, knowing the exact flow allocation for each controlled zone is important for well optimization and management. In an IWS well, downhole gauges are usually installed at the upstream and downstream sides of a downhole control valve ...
