Impact of point-source injection methodologies on injection studies
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2008Abstract Effective interdiction of illicit radioactive material requires decision criteria that are sensitive to the material of interest, while insensitive to material of lesser interest. Injection studies are used to assess the sensitivities of decision criteria to radioactive threat scenarios. Configuring injection studies requires decisions about

Trigger point injections vs. jet injection in the treatment of myofascial pain
Pain, 1983Trigger point injections using dilute solutions of local anesthetic agents have proved effective for many patients with myofascial pain. The treatment itself, however, can produce severe pain and may occasionally be associated with complications. It was determined in this study that a local anesthetic solution administered by jet injection in the area ...

Factors Associated With Failure of Trigger Point Injections
The Clinical Journal of Pain, 1994The purpose of this study was to investigate factors that may influence the outcome of trigger point injections for myofascial pain syndrome. No prior studies have correlated preexisting factors with treatment outcome or assessed the magnitude of risk of treatment failure associated with such factors.Thirty-one factors derived from patient evaluation ...

Lidocaine Injection of Auricular Points in the Treatment of Insomnia
The American Journal of Chinese Medicine, 1977By combining knowledge in modern medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, auricular points were selected for treatment of insomnia. Instead of the placement of needles, injection of small amounts of Lidocaine into these sites was employed. Fifteen out of 16 patients obtained substantial improvement and one patient received moderate improvement.
