This paper is a continuation of papers of earlier date (4) and (5) and is an abstract of (6). Pertinent factors involved in inlet stability are discussed briefly. Results of analysis of existing data are mentioned and a future research program is outlined. In order to obtain a stable tidal inlet in alluvial material it appears to be an inevitable

Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

Effects of Flow and Ebb Tides on the Current and Sediment Transport Patterns in Deltas Using the Numerical Mike 21 Software [PDF]
The current and sediment transport patterns are important factors affecting coastline morphology. Subsequently, these factors are influenced by waves and currents. Currents are generated by waves breaking on the coastal area. A simultaneous presence of a

Effect of air-preheating on NOx emissions from a gas turbine combustor [PDF]
A 76 mm diameter can combustor equipped with a 45° curved-blade radial swirler was used to study the effect of high inlet temperature gas turbine combustion on NOx emission characteristics.

Experimental and CFD airflow studies of a cleanroom with special respect to air supply inlets [PDF]
Investigations were carried out into the airflow in a non-unidirectional airflow cleanroom and its affect on the local airborne particle cleanliness The main influence was the method of air supply A supply inlet with no diffuser gave a pronounced ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Self stabilizing sonic inlet [PDF]
An inlet suitable for a turbine engine in a STOL, VTOL or CTOL aircraft is described. A circumferentially extended slot is provided in the inner surface of the air inlet at the windward side and downstream of the throat region. The slot communicates with

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
