Values and value conflicts in organic farming - Images and symbolic ideas as starting point for strategic planning in advisory and research work [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Values and value conflicts play an important role in organic but also in non-organic farming. In discussions about the future way to go unconscious systems in human behaviour should be taken into account. Pictures, images and symbols are commonly used in

Efficient DMFT impurity solver using real-time dynamics with Matrix Product States

open access: yes, 2015
We propose to calculate spectral functions of quantum impurity models using the Time Evolving Block Decimation (TEBD) for Matrix Product States. The resolution of the spectral function is improved by a so-called linear prediction approach.

Magnetic Force Microscopy Signatures of Higher‐Order Skyrmions and Antiskyrmions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic force microscopy operated under vacuum conditions enables the qualitative identification of higher‐order skyrmions and antiskyrmions in Co/Ni multilayers at room temperature. Distinct stray‐field contrast signatures arise from vertical Bloch lines and complex domain‐wall configurations.

Light‐Actuated Fiber‐Climbing Inchworm Robot Toward Endoluminal Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A kirigami‐inspired soft inchworm robot harnesses optical energy from a customized side‐emitting optical fiber, guaranteeing its propulsion along the fiber body. The wavelength‐selective responsiveness of dye‐functionalized liquid crystal elastomers and the application of temporal illumination patterns enable sequential control of robot components. The

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Industrial cluster formation in European regions. U.S. cluster templates and Austrian evidence. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The paper will be organized in the following manner. We first provide a concise review of how industrial trade clusters were developed from available I/O coefficients (see box), including how regional industrial data may be embedded within their ...

Two-loop SUSY QCD corrections to the neutralino masses in the MSSM

open access: yes, 2006
We have calculated the two-loop strong interaction corrections to the neutralino pole masses in the DRbar'-scheme in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We have performed a detailed numerical analysis for a particular point in the parameter

The sedimentary history of the inner‐alpine Inn Valley, Austria: extending the Baumkirchen type section further back in time with new drilling

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, 2017
ABSTRACTThe Baumkirchen clay pit near Innsbruck, western Austria, is a well‐known site in Alpine Quaternary stratigraphy. Lacustrine sediments from the last glacial cycle from within the Alps provide a unique opportunity to investigate the regional palaeoclimate.

Positively Charged Polymer‐Brush MOFs for Large‐Area, Pressure‐Resistant Gas Separation Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A universal POPA strategy enables positively charged polymer‐brush MOFs with self‐adaptive interfacial interlocking to resist aggregation under fast processing. This design ensures seamless dispersion within large‐area selective layers, achieving 1 m‐wide roll‐to‐roll fabrication of pressure‐resistant MMCMs with tunable CO2 separation performance ...
