Fully noncentral Lie ideals and invariant additive subgroups in rings

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 111, Issue 3, March 2025.
Abstract We prove conditions ensuring that a Lie ideal or an invariant additive subgroup in a ring contains all additive commutators. A crucial assumption is that the subgroup is fully noncentral, that is, its image in every quotient is noncentral. For a unital algebra over a field of characteristic ≠2$\ne 2$ where every additive commutator is a sum of

Deconfinement to confinement as PT phase transition

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
We consider SU(N) QCD in a new quadratic gauge which highlights certain characteristic of the theory in the non-perturbative sector. By considering natural hermiticity property of the ghost fields we cast this model as non-Hermitian but symmetric under ...

A crossed product of a skew field of quaternions and four-group

open access: yesЖурнал Белорусского государственного университета: Математика, информатика, 2018
The article considers construction of generalized crossed product of an arbitrary quaternions skew field and Klein four-group relative to factor system. It is well known that such crossed product is semisimple ring.

Class-preserving automorphisms and inner automorphisms of certain tree products of groups

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2011
AbstractIn general, a class-preserving automorphism of generalized free products of nilpotent groups need not be an inner automorphism. We prove that every class-preserving automorphism of tree products of finitely generated nilpotent or free groups, amalgamating infinite cyclic subgroups, is inner. It follows that the outer automorphism groups of such

Inner automorphisms as 2-cells

open access: yes
Abstract inner automorphisms can be used to promote any category into a 2-category, and we study two-dimensional limits and colimits in the resulting 2-categories. Existing connected colimits and limits in the starting category become two-dimensional colimits and limits under fairly general conditions.
