Comparison of three analytical methods for the precise calculation of cogging torque and torque ripple in axial flux PM machines [PDF]
A comparison between different analytical and finite-element (FE) tools for the computation of cogging torque and torque ripple in axial flux permanent-magnet synchronous machines is made.

Conformal mapping of ultrasonic crystals: confining ultrasound and cochlear-like wave guiding
Conformal mapping of a slab of a two-dimensional ultrasonic crystal generate a closed geometrical arrangement of ultrasonic scatterers with appealing acoustic properties. This acoustic shell is able to confine ultrasonic modes.

Appell F1 and Conformal Mapping [PDF]
This is the last of a trilogy of papers on triangle centers. A fairly obscure "conformal center of gravity" is computed for the class of all isosceles triangles. This calculation appears to be new.

A Guide to Stochastic Loewner Evolution and its Applications
This article is meant to serve as a guide to recent developments in the study of the scaling limit of critical models. These new developments were made possible through the definition of the Stochastic Loewner Evolution (SLE) by Oded Schramm.

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Cloaking and anamorphism for light and mass diffusion
We first review classical results on cloaking and mirage effects for electromagnetic waves. We then show that transformation optics allows the masking of objects or produces mirages in diffusive regimes. In order to achieve this, we consider the equation

The exponential map is chaotic: An invitation to transcendental dynamics [PDF]
We present an elementary and conceptual proof that the complex exponential map is "chaotic" when considered as a dynamical system on the complex plane.

Phase‐changing liquids enable untethered pneumatic actuation in soft robotics but suffer from volatility and storage challenges. This work reports a simple method to encapsulate Novec 7000 within micron‐thin alginate shells via in situ injection and ionic crosslinking.

A combinatorial library of dual‐functional antiviral oligomers incorporating N‐halamine and quaternary ammonium functionalities is developed for long‐lasting antiviral activity. The lead materials exhibit rapid and durable antiviral activity against SARS‐CoV‐2 variants and influenza H1N1, with 4 to 5 log reduction in viral copies at 5 mg mL−1 ...

Here, we present a high‐density PEDOT eutectogel electrode array for enhanced body surface gastric mapping. Silver electrodes are blade‐coated onto flexible substrates, followed by electrogelation of PEDOT:PSS and the deposition of a PEDOT:LS eutectogel.
