Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.

2k-inner products and 2k-Riemannian metrics
The notion of 2k-inner product is introduced as a generalization of usual inner product and Q-inner product([4]-[8]). As a consequence, is defined the notion of 2k-normed space and some properties, e.g. uniformly convexity, Gâteaux differentiability and

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Operators on Inner Product Spaces
Linear algebra is the study of linear maps on finite-dimensional vector spaces. Eventually we will learn what all these terms mean. In this chapter we will define vector spaces and discuss their elementary properties.

The Cartesian product of two copies of a normed space is naturally equipped with the well-known p-norm. In this paper, another notion of norm is introduced, and will be called the p-HH-norm. This norm is an extension of the generalised logarithmic mean

A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Inner-product spaces for quantitative analysis of eyes and other optical systems
Because dioptric power matrices of thin systems constitute a (three-dimensional) inner-product space, it is possible to define distances and angles in the space and so do quantitative analyses on dioptric power for thin systems.

In this paper we introduce two mappings associated with the lower and upper semiinner product (.,.)i and (.,.)s and with semi-inner products [.,.] (in the sense of Lumer) which generate the norm of a real normed linear space, and study properties of ...

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

P-, I-, g-, and D-Angles in Normed Spaces
The notion of angles is known in a vector space equipped with an inner product, but not well established in a vector space equipped only with a norm. In this note, we shall develop some notions of angles between two vectors in a normed space and discuss ...
