Somewhere in-between: Inner speech and the proto-mental content

open access: yesRivista Internazionale di Filosofia e Psicologia, 2023
In this paper, I explain emerging mental content by focusing on the role of inner speech in reading acquisition. I offer a hybrid explanation that relates a Vygotskian conception of inner speech (constructivism) to dual-route psycholinguistic models of ...

Multimodal Soft Surgical Robots Enabled by Eco‐Degradable, Sterilizable Polymers and Transient Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A compostable PGS soft surgical robot with interchangeable modules integrates transient Mo tactile and Si thermal sensors for dual feedback. The device preserves its function after clinical‐grade sterilization, demonstrates stable actuation and cardiac tissue grasping with real‐time in vivo pulsatile monitoring, and biodegrades post‐use with soil‐safe,

Graded‐Interface Dual‐Environment Hydrogel‐Polymer Electrolyte for Stabilized Anode and Sustained Cathode Kinetics in Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A graded‐interface hydrogel‐polymer electrolyte decouples water activity to simultaneously stabilize the Zn anode and sustain cathode kinetics. The flexible design supports dendrite‐free cycling over 1600 h, high capacity in both MnO2 and V2O5 full cells, and stable pouch‐cell performance under bending, resolving the fundamental water conflict in ...

Valsiner, J., Marsico, G. (2022). On the Borders of Inner Speech. In P. Fossa (ed). New Perspectives on Inner Speech, Springer.

open access: yes, 2022
This book is a tour de force that starts from the observable act of speaking and finds its winding road to the mysteries of inner speech. The reader of this small volume can trace on almost every page the tension between the ease of observing external ...

Ionic Transportation Induced Electric Field Modulation in Porous Ecoflex/PTFE with Confined Liquid for High‐Performance Contact Electrification Power Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Porous Ecoflex/PTFE composite with encapsulated liquid generates electricity through ionic migration induced by dynamic pore deformation, creating non‐uniform electric fields that drive charge induction on electrodes. This mechanism enhances charge transfer and ensures stable contact electrification performance, achieving 12 V and 4 nC with consistent ...

3D Printing Innovations in Polymeric Porous and Patterned Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymeric foams occupy a unique structural space between dense solids and open networks, where engineered void fraction governs mechanical compliance, thermal resistance, and mass transport. Additive manufacturing now enables precise spatial control over cellular architecture, unlocking designer foam structures across applications spanning crash ...

A new comparator account of auditory verbal hallucination: how motor cognition can plausibly contribute to the sense of agency for inner speech

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2014
The comparator account holds that processes of motor prediction contribute to the sense of agency by attenuating incoming sensory information and that disruptions to this process contribute to misattributions of agency in schizophrenia. Over the last 25

Pickering‐Engineered Microparticles for Magnetically Guided Motion and Light‐Triggered Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetically responsive wax microparticles stabilized by hematite cubes through the Pickering emulsification strategy are developed, showing controlled size, motion, and light‐activated catalytic activity. Annealing under a magnetic field enhances their mobility and steering.

The ConDialInt Model: Condensation, Dialogality, and Intentionality Dimensions of Inner Speech Within a Hierarchical Predictive Control Framework

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
Inner speech has been shown to vary in form along several dimensions. Along condensation, condensed inner speech forms have been described, that are supposed to be deprived of acoustic, phonological and even syntactic qualities.
