First Row Transition Metals in Olefin Metathesis: The Role of Iron and Manganese

Olefin metathesis is primarily a love story with molybdenum and ruthenium, but the dream is to transition to first‐row transition metals, such as manganese and especially iron. Will this be feasible? This work discusses some challenges associated with this migration.

Pd Nanoparticles Supported on Activated Carbon and Their Application in the Oxidative Condensation Reaction of Furfural: Effect of Base and Oxidizing Agent on Catalytic Behavior and Deactivation

Catalysts with varying palladium (Pd) loading supported on activated carbon were assessed for their effectiveness in the oxidative condensation of furfural. Furan‐2‐acrolein was the primary product, depending on the palladium content. Reusability tests showed a decline in the yield of furan‐2‐acrolein.

Tungsten oxide nanostructures prepared by hydrodynamic anodization using an ionic liquid present optimal photoelectrochemical performance as catalysts in the water splitting reaction and in the CO2 reduction.
