Chromenone derivatives as CRM1 Inhibitors for Targeting Glioblastoma

open access: yesChemBioChem, Accepted Article.
Glioblastoma (GBM) is one of the most aggressive and deadly cancers. Due to the complexity and redundancy within signaling networks in GBM, targeted inhibitors of specific pathways have shown only limited success. The nuclear export receptor Chromosome Region Maintenance 1 (CRM1) has recently emerged as a promising therapeutic target, as its inhibition

Unveiling the OCOO Intermediate: Mechanistic Insights into Highly Efficient CO Oxidation by Au‐Based Nanoparticle Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Perester‐type species on the CO oxidation catalyzed by gold‐based nanoparticles is a key intermediate for efficient catalysis. The high spin electronic state of the Au–Ru cluster favors oxygen molecule barrierless dissociation upon adsorption. Charge accumulation on Ru enhanced by charge transfer enhanced O─O bond activation.

Organocatalytic Enantioselective Conjugate Addition of Isoxazol‐5(4H)‐Ones to Aurone‐Derived Azadienes

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
The efficient and robust enantioselective organocatalytic methodology was developed for the conjugate addition of isoxazol‐5(4H)‐ones to aurone‐derived azadienes. This approach provided products featuring benzofuran and isoxazole rings with high yields and enantioselectivities.

Pt/TiO2 Prepared by Mechanochemistry Boosts Photocatalytic Production of Hydrogen

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Ball milling enables the rapid synthesis of a Pt/TiO₂ photocatalyst with atomically dispersed Pt, outperforming a conventional Pt‐cluster catalyst (1.3× higher H2 evolution from ethanol). Enhanced activity is attributed to single‐atom stabilization and suppressed surface restructuring, promoting efficient charge separation via Schottky barrier ...

First Row Transition Metals in Olefin Metathesis: The Role of Iron and Manganese

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Olefin metathesis is primarily a love story with molybdenum and ruthenium, but the dream is to transition to first‐row transition metals, such as manganese and especially iron. Will this be feasible? This work discusses some challenges associated with this migration.
