Diffusion of Legal Innovations

Annual Review of Law and Social Science, 2022
The law is permanently under construction. Most legal change is intentional. A legislator, a court, or one of the law's subjects hopes to better achieve a purpose by switching from one rule, one interpretation, or one remedy to the next. Yet empirically, legal innovation tends to be a process that takes time.

On the diffusion of competing innovations

Mathematical Social Sciences, 2020
This paper examines how discounting shapes the probability that a product innovator grants an innovation for licensing to a firm interested in this innovation, when innovations are perfect substitute and firms are competitive. The discounting refers, of course, to the potential profit of the innovator from offering its innovation for licensing.

Innovation Diffusion

International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development, 2014
The phenomenon of diffusion has been extensively studied from different disciplines in the natural and social sciences and has been used in the study of innovation dynamics. Diffusion plays also a central role to the study of disease-spread within a population, being an essential element of epidemiological research.

Diffusion of virtual innovation

ACM SIGMIS Database: the DATABASE for Advances in Information Systems, 2007
Drawing on Rogers' diffusion of innovations theory, specifically his innovation decision process model, this paper develops a research framework that identifies the accelerators and inhibitors of virtual world technology adoption. Categorized by level of analysis, specific factors influencing the adoption of virtual world technology by organizations ...

Diffusion of innovations

Genetics in Medicine, 2003
AbstractThis chapter reviews diffusion of innovations theory which has been the theory that has used network principles and perspectives most extensively. An introduction to the theory and a review of its principles is provided. The chapter then reviewed the 4 major classes of diffusion models (1) integration/opinion leadership, (2) structural models, (

Quality and the diffusion of innovations

European Journal of Operational Research, 1998
In this paper, we solve the problem of optimal control of products diffusion by quality in a context of monopolistic competition. To do so, we introduce a dynamic demand function leaning on two hypotheses: first, price acts a signal of quality; second, demand is more sensitive to quality than to price. Using the maximum principle of Pontryagin, we then

INNOVATION DIFFUSION AND IMPLEMENTATION

International Journal of Innovation Management, 1999
Economic progress continues to be greatly influenced by the development and adoption of innovations. Maintaining momentum necessitates understanding factors that influence the choices made by organisations. Diffusion and implementation research have each sought to understand necessary conditions and motivations and to identify obstacles. Whether these
