Atomic layer deposition is used to conformally surface engineer polymeric membranes to fabricate inorganic–organic hybrid membranes. These membranes have exceptionally strong attraction toward water even in high oil containing emulsions, which leads to an extremely strong hydration layer at the interface.

Frequency-tunable nickel-titanium substrates for magnetoelectric sensors
We show the use of nickel-titanium (NiTi) metal thin films as functional substrates of magnetoelectric composites allowing the composites’ mechanical resonance to be tuned towards the frequency range of interest by employing the gradual change of the ...

Isolation of an Anionic Dicarbene Embedded Sn2P2 Cluster and Reversible CO2 Uptake
Decarbonylation of a cyclic bis‐phosphaethynolatostannylene [(ADC)Sn(PCO)]2 based on an anionic dicarbene framework (ADC = PhC{N(Dipp)C}2; Dipp = 2,6‐iPr2C6H3) under UV light results in the formation of a Sn2P2 cluster compound [(ADC)SnP]2 as a green ...

Giant Electrostriction in Halide Perovskites Revisited With Double‐Modulation Interferometry
A giant electrostrictive effect in lead halide perovskites had been reported previously. This work uses sensitive interferometry to measure the electromechanical response of various halide perovskite samples. The results reveal no intrinsic electrostrictive compression. Instead, the materials expand primarily under an applied electric field as a result
