High-Throughput Identification of Electrides from All Known Inorganic Materials [PDF]
In this paper, we present the results of a large-scale, high-throughput computational search for electrides among all known inorganic materials. Analyzing a database of density functional theory results on more than 60 000 compounds, we identify 65 new ...

Enhanced stability and local structure in biologically relevant amorphous materials containing pyrophosphate [PDF]
There is increasing evidence that amorphous inorganic materials play a key role in biomineralisation in many organisms, however the inherent instability of synthetic analogues in the absence of the complex in vivo matrix limits their study and clinical ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Ternary Inorganic Electrides with Mixed Bonding
A high-throughput screening based on first-principles calculations was performed to search for new ternary inorganic electrides. From the available materials database, we identified three new thermodynamically stable materials (Li12Mg3Si4, NaBa2O, and ...

Key properties of inorganic thermoelectric materials—tables (version 1)
This paper presents tables of key thermoelectric properties, which define thermoelectric conversion efficiency, for a wide range of inorganic materials. The twelve families of materials included in these tables are primarily selected on the basis of well

Chemotherapies such as doxorubicin can have toxic effects on healthy cardiovascular/heart tissue. Following up on a doxorubicin toxicity study in mice without tumors where nitrate water was cardioprotective (lessened toxicity), this study with tumor‐bearing mice undergoing doxorubicin treatment showed no negative effect of nitrate and nitrite on drug ...
