Reversible Dihydrogen Splitting and Diradical Reactivity of 1,4‐Digermabenzene‐1,4‐diide

open access: yesChemistryEurope
Here, we report the use of an alkyne‐functionalized amidine, PhC{N(Dipp)}N(Dipp)C≡CSiMe3 (1) (Dipp = 2,6‐iPr2C6H3), to access a range of Ge(IV), Ge(II/IV), Ge(II), and Ge(I) compounds based on an anionic dicarbene (ADC) framework (ADC = PhC{N(Dipp)C}2 ...

Porous Layered Double Hydroxides Synthesized using Oxygen Generated by Decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Porous magnesium-aluminium layered double hydroxides (LDH) were prepared through intercalation and decomposition of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). This process generates oxygen gas nano-bubbles that pierce holes in the layered structure of the material by ...

Active Corrosion Protection of Sintered AA7075 Aluminum Alloy via Mn Powder Addition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
AA7075 containing Mn‐rich particles is fabricated via spark plasma sintering using AA7075 and Mn powders. Corrosion resistance is evaluated through dip‐and‐dry tests using 0.1 M NaCl (pH 6.0), and mass loss decreases with increasing Mn addition. Mn‐rich particles function as a source of Mn ions, and formation of Mn‐accumulation films on Cu‐containing ...

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries
