Inorganic carbon acquisition in Palmaria palmata (Rhodophyta) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
PhDDIC acquisition mechanisms and the use of DIC in photosynthesis were examined in the temperate red macroalga, Palmaria palmata (Linnaeus) O. Kuntze.

Self‐Assembled Crystalline Peptoid Nanomaterials as Metal‐Free Enzyme Mimics for Enhanced Carbon Dioxide Hydration and Precipitation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by metal‐free carbonic anhydrases (CAs) that achieve efficient catalysis without metal cofactors, we herein report a sequence‐defined supramolecular peptoid platform that mimics metal‐free CAs and exhibits hydrolytic activity via a supramolecular assembly‐mediated proton‐transfer mechanism.

From Bulk to Colloidal Nanocrystals: Top‐Down Synthesis of Highly Luminescent Cs2ZrCl6:Te4+ Double Perovskite Nanocrystals for X‐Ray Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Top‐down ultrasonication produces highly emissive Cs2ZrCl6:Te4+ nanocrystals (NCs) with a PLQY of 65%, which is higher compared to that of the NCs synthesized by typical bottom‐up hot‐injection synthesis. The colloidal Cs2ZrCl6:Te4+ NCs have been found to be potential candidates for x‐ray scintillation imaging.

Inorganic Chemistry

open access: yes, 1982
p. 3310 - 3316Basic hydrolysis, under mild conditions, of (~-oxo)bis[bis(8-quinolinato)oxovanadium(V)], [(Q2VO)20]( Q = 8-quinolinato anion), obtained by a one-step synthesis, gave a dioxovanadium(V) complex, [Q2V02]-, containing the V02- unit.

Covalent Functionalization of 2D Semiconductors: A Roadmap to Advanced Electronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Review presents recent advances in the covalent functionalization strategies for two‐dimensional semiconductors and their implementation in modern technologies. Layered materials are modified through diverse molecular chemistries (e.g., thiols, diazonium salts, alkyl halides, and electron‐deficient species) to tailor their surface properties ...

Increased fruit yield (%) due to the inorganic N treatment (inorganic N-fertilization efficiency) as a function of weed density.

open access: yes, 2019
The increase in fruit yield was determined relative to fruit yield in control plots. (a) Inorganic N-fertilization efficiency in plots of C. peregrina; (b) Inorganic N-fertilization efficiency in plots of D. spicata. Values are mean ± SD (n = 3).
